Papyrus: Learn English Words ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Papyrus mobile application (the "App"), available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
By using the App you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We collect only the minimum information necessary to deliver a personalized vocabulary learning experience. We do not require account creation with an email or password.

We generate a random, anonymous device identifier (UUID) when you first use the App. This ID is used as your anonymous identifier for analytics and crash reporting. It is not linked to your Apple ID, Google account, or any other personally identifiable information.
To deliver core features such as push notifications and audio playback, we rely on trusted third-party service providers. These providers may automatically collect technical data (such as IP addresses and device identifiers) as part of their standard operation. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

On-device data is stored securely within your device's app sandbox, protected by the operating system's built-in security mechanisms. Server-side data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with access restricted to authorized services only.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections for all data transmitted between the App and our servers. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The App is designed to be suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The age range selected during onboarding is used solely for content difficulty adjustment and is stored locally on the device. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Our servers are hosted in the United States. If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

By downloading, installing, or using Papyrus (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
Papyrus: Learn English Words is a vocabulary learning application that provides English word definitions, example sentences, and audio pronunciations. The App delivers personalized content based on your CEFR proficiency level (A1–C2) and offers optional push notification reminders to support your daily learning habit.
The App is available to users of all ages. If you are under the age of 13 (or the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction), you must have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App.
All content within the App — including but not limited to word definitions, example sentences, audio files, illustrations, icons, and visual design — is the property of Papyrus or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any content from the App without our prior written consent.
The App may request permission to send push notifications containing vocabulary words and reminders. You may opt out at any time through your device's notification settings. Opting out will not affect any other functionality of the App.
The App relies on third-party service providers to deliver core functionality such as notifications and audio playback. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or policies of these services. In the event of a third-party outage, certain features may be temporarily unavailable.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PAPYRUS AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Papyrus and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the App.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Istanbul, Turkey.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted within the App and on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Papyrus regarding the use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
